My family grew up listening to Crystal Lewis on cassette in the mid 90’s. Yes, cassette:) We slowly transitioned to CD’s in the late 1990’s which seemed like the biggest new invention since sliced bread! Crystal Lewis was our family’s soundtrack. You can imagine my enthusiasm when I actually began working for Crystal for about 3 years as her Website Designer, CD Designer, and also having the privilege of photographing her in 2006 for the first time for promotional photos. It truly was a dream come true. She’s had NUMEROUS #1 hits, multiple Dove Award accolades, and nominated for multiple Grammy’s. But through it all, she has remained the most humble and down-to-earth person Natalia and I have ever met. She is extremely funny, kind, and truly loves the Lord!
Moving from Southern California to Northwestern Montana with her husband and children 7 years ago, we lost touch for a few years until the beauty of social media kicked in – specifically Instagram – which reunited us after so long. We had discussed the possibility of shooting again together when our paths crossed. Crystal wrote me earlier this year that she would be in Southern California for a few performances and perhaps we could get together for a fun photo session! I was all in! We decided to have a fun little session in Palm Springs, CA at the ACE hotel. I loved the outcome! The photos from this shoot will coincide with the iTunes release of Crystal’s newest Greatest Hits project titled “25” which will include 25 of Crystal’s greatest hits throughout her 26-year successful career, along with 2 remade mixes of Crystal’s absolute GREATEST hits, “Beauty for Ashes” and “People Get Ready.” Below are a few of our favorite images captured during our time together.
